Mysterious Power of Music

"Music is what life sounds like." ~ Eric Olson

A personal music blog which chronicles the music which has moved me to sing and dance, lifted my spirits, and to remember both the good and not-so-great times.

Posted in memory of the life and music of the composer on passed away Wednesday in Paris at the age of 91.

Fellow bloggers sigmastolen and theuncastshadow (see the previous post) both raised a valid points. I should have added an update on the current situation with the orchestra.

In May of 2012, the musicians and orchestra management reached a bridge one-year agreement, which allowed the orchestra to perform its 75th season (2012-2013). The agreement was for 30-weeks for 55 salaried musicians. In March of the this year, both sides reached a three-year agreement. As outlined in a post by Erin Keane, the new agreement calls for 30-weeks for 55 or 56 salaried musicians. The pay levels for the musician will be same as current levels for years one and two with a pay increase in year three.

I just noticed this on Louisville Orchestra site and thought I would pass this along. The auditions will take place on June 18. The deadline for sending in your one-page resume is June 4.
